His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Minister of Municipality of the State of Qatar, made an official visit to the Republic of Singapore in light of his participation in the work of the World Cities Summit, which was held in the country during the period 2 - 4 June 2024, where His Excellency attended its opening session with the participation of several ministers responsible for urban planning and heads of municipal councils, and in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore. The summit highlights include the Lee Kuan Yew World City Award and the Mayors' Forum (WCS), which serves as an exclusive platform for government leaders and experts on the challenges of livable and sustainable cities, and on sharing integrated urban solutions to achieve smart, resilient and regenerative cities for the time being and the future.
On the sidelines of the visit, His Excellency met with several dignitaries, most notably Her Excellency Ms. Grace Fu, Minister of Sustainability and Environment and Minister in charge of Trade Relations, and His Excellency Mr. Desmond Lee, Minister of National Development. During the meetings, topics of common interest were discussed, and cooperation relations were reviewed, in addition to the discussion of the latest developments in the region. The meetings were attended by His Excellency Mr. Saoud bin Jassim Al-Jufairi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Singapore, and several senior officials from both sides.
