H.E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the state of Qatar has met Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies H.E Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam on Wednesday 5th October 2016 during His Excellency's visit to Singapore for the period from 4 – 5 October 2016.
The meeting dealt with bilateral relations and the means to enhance them, as well as discussing the scope for enhancing bilateral cooperation. Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and HE the Foreign Minister of Qatar also discussed matters of joint interest. They discussed the economic challenges that countries are facing in the current global environment. Mr. Tharman welcomed the Qatar Investment Authority's interest in setting up its Asian headquarters in Singapore. They also exchanged views and stances on a set of issues of common concern and touched on the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.
