His Excellency Dr. Khalid Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, visit the Republic of Singapore from 2 to 3 June to participate in the 17th Asia Security Summit / Shangri-La Dialogue 2018

His Excellency Dr. Khalid Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, visited the Republic of Singapore to participate in the 17th Asian Security Summit, known as the Shangri-La Dialogue, for the period 2-3 June 2018, with the participation of defence ministers, army leaders and officials of 50 countries, including Russia, France, Germany and a number of Asian Pacific countries. The conference was attended by a number of representatives of Arab governments including Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Morocco, as well as a number of international experts in security affairs. The three-day summit lasted from June 1-3, and dealt with regional security issues, including the South China Sea issue, recent inter-Korean developments, the issue of terrorism in the region and its counter, as well as the security situation in Asia and the Pacific. In his address to the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Singapore (IISS), Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, stressed in his speech to the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in Singapore “the Shangri-La Dialogue", entitled "New dimensions of terrorism and counter-terrorism", that Qatar has spared no effort in the fight against terrorism and said that we have harnessed our material, technical and logistical resources to prevent violent extremism and cut terrorist financing.
