His Excellency Dr. Khalid Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, meet with a number of ministers on the sidelines of his participation in the 17th Asian Security Summit / Shangri-La 2018 Dialogue

On the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue, HE Dr. Khalid Al-Attiyah met with a number of ministers. He met with US Defense Secretary James Matisse. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations of mutual interest and means of enhancing them, they also discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the Gulf crisis. He also met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister of National Security of the Republic of Singapore, Mr. Teo Chee Hen. The two sides discussed bilateral relations and means of enhancing them, as well as discussing a number of issues of common concern. HE also met with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan. The two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of boosting them and discussing a number of issues of common concern. He also met with Singaporean Defense Minister NG Eng Hen, where the two sides discussed means of developing and strengthening military and security cooperation between the two countries, as well as discussing a number of issues of common concern. On the evening of Saturday, June 2, His Excellency attended the official banquet dinner of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) for the Shangri-La Dialogue 2018 which was hosted by the President of the Republic of Singapore, HE Halimah Yacob. His Excellency Mr. Abdullah Bin Ibrahim Al-Hamar, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Singapore attended the banquet as well. On Sunday, June 3, 2018, HE Dr. Khalid met with Mr. Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the two sides discussed a number of issues of common concern. His Excellency also met with Ana Birchall, Vice Prime Minister for Romania's Strategic Partnerships' Implementation. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations of mutual interest and means of strengthening and developing them.
